Herb Cline is a dedicated law enforcement professional with over three decades of experience in public safety and security. He retired from the Bartlesville Police Department after 28 years of distinguished service, during which he played pivotal roles, including serving as one of the department’s original D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) officers. Cline was also a valued member of the Bartlesville Police Special Operations Team.
Following his retirement, Cline transitioned into the private sector, managing security operations at Osage Casino for seven years. His passion for law enforcement, however, drew him back to duty in 2017 when he joined the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Initially serving as a patrol deputy, he quickly advanced to the Investigations Division and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Cline holds an Advanced Law Enforcement Certification from the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) and is certified as both a Defensive Tactics Instructor and a De-escalation Instructor. He has also served as a crisis negotiator with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, applying his communication skills to de-escalate high-stakes situations.
A graduate of the prestigious Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Academy, Cline’s extensive experience reflects his lifelong commitment to protecting and serving his community with professionalism, leadership, and integrity.
